If you’re anything like me, then controlling your edges can be a challenge. Finding the perfect product to keep them in place isn’t always easy.
Do you know this struggle?
Managing your edges can feel like an endless battle, leaving you frustrated when they refuse to stay sleek for more than a few seconds. The process can also be time-consuming and downright annoying if they don’t turn out right.
But I have good news for you—all hope is not lost!
In today’s article, I’m going to share four simple methods to help you slay your edges effortlessly.
When you think about slaying your edges, what comes to mind? Let’s dive into it!
1) Damp Your Hair and Tie It Down
The first step is to slightly dampen your edges and secure them with a headscarf.
-
Lightly spritz your edges with water before applying a pomade or gel to enhance hold.
-
Apply an edge control product while your hair is still slightly damp.
-
Tie a satin scarf or headband over your hairline and leave it on for 5–10 minutes.
This technique helps your edges stay slicked down and frizz-free.
Tip: If you’re rocking a natural hairstyle, this method works wonders! However, avoid applying water if your hair has recently been silk-pressed.
2) Use the Perfect Combination of Edge Control and Gel
For extra hold, try mixing a small amount of edge control with your favorite strong-hold gel.
-
Apply a thin layer of edge control, followed by a small amount of maximum-hold gel.
-
Be careful not to use too much, as excess product can create a white, waxy buildup—and you definitely don’t want that!
So, remember—less is more!
